Ard Bia at Nimmos

Ard Bia at Nimmos has a dreamy menu for people of all persuasions. In their beautiful, riverside location, they serve dishes like chive gnocchi with sorrel pesto, charred halloumi flatbread with pomegranate and babaganoush, and beetroot carpaccio with a walnut crumb.

They have a strong focus on sustainability, and quality, local food that’s packed full of flavour. Within their quirky, artful setting they also offer some gorgeous beverages well worth trying, like a beetroot chai and a plum and pear kombucha!

Greens & Co

Greens&Co on Henry Street boasts a menu that is 100% plant based and vegan. Known for their creative specials, this is the spot for hearty comfort food that still feels healthy and wholesome.

While they’re currently updating their menu, previous items have included a bombay ‘chicken’ stack with curry roasted potatoes, a creamy vegan carbonara and a Nashville hot mushroom burger with crispy waffle fries. They also have a spectacular range of vegan bakes, from buns and biscuits to whole cakes perfect for parties.

Ré Nao

Chinese restaurant Ré Nao receives high praise from non-meat-eaters for a reason. They have an extensive vegan menu available for lunch and dinner, with both Chinese dishes and classic recipes from other Asian countries like Thai curry and nasi goreng.

The Bean Tree

Family-run business The Bean Tree has been serving up tasty, homemade vegetarian and vegan food to the people of Galway for almost 30 years. 

They specialise in ready-made plant-based meals that you can take with you, and are best known for their pea and potato curry which is a long-standing hit with locals. At their location in the Westside Enterprise Centre, you can pop in for coffee, treats, and a fabulous selection of chilled and frozen dishes or a hot meal to go.

Rúibín

Rúibín’s reputation for gorgeous, innovative food precedes them. The award winning restaurant on the Dock Road has a diverse menu that suits a range of occasions, with unique and thoughtful creations for vegetarians and vegans.

Though their menu is subject to change, examples of their dishes include shitake and tofu dumplings in miso broth, glazed celeriac skewers with madeira wild rice, and grilled leeks with medjool dates and smoked almonds.

In the heart of the city on Shop Street, light-filled restaurant 56 Central maintains an ethos of sustainability, community and comforting food. They’re vegetarian-friendly with appetising salads and sandwiches, plus the option to customise other dishes to match your diet.

For the brunch lovers, they offer sweet pancake stacks and a substantial veggie breakfast with all the trimmings plus homemade cannellini beans and creamy feta on sourdough. (They do a mean mimosa too!)

A farm, restaurant and coffee roasters, iconic eatery Dela are famous for their brunch (though they do an excellent dinner as well). Their produce is home-grown and offers a farm to fork experience, ideal for vegetarians and vegans alike. 

From a more-ish mushroom toast and a veggie breakfast with caramelised chickpea tofu to a barley risotto with fried sage and a miso glazed celeriac with hazelnut furikake, this is a venue that will both surprise and delight.
