Galway Lifestyle & Slow Fashion Store Mise Tusa Has Re-Opened
The Galway fashion and lifestyle shop, run by mother-and-daughter duo Bridget and Meritta Gorman-Geoghegan, gained swift popularity for their sustainable ethos and focus on individuality.
In 2022, the business ramped up, seeing successful pop ups in both London and Paris, with Bridget moving to London to focus on her work in human rights activism. Meritta closed the doors of Mise Tusa in 2023, moving away from a traditional retail model to appointment-only.
Now, fans of the shop will be delighted to hear that on Friday 5th June, Mise Tusa opened for the first time in three years – and creative director Meritta is back with a fresh perspective.
Citing some personal difficulty over the last two years, Meritta shared, “I’m happy to be returning to my creative practice and reopening the studio. It feels like the right time — I’m drawn back to making, and I want Mise Tusa to be a place that genuinely fosters creativity, connection, and nourishes individuality.”
This time, the focus of Mise Tusa will be “individual, one-of-a-kind pieces”, and they’ve also got workshops and subscription offerings lined up for the coming months.
Joining the space with Meritta is Siobhán McArdle, an independent jewellery artist and goldsmith. “Having [Siobhán] here adds another layer of craft and creativity to what we're building”.
Alongside the reopening of the store, Meritta shared that Bridget will be returning to host their third yoga retreat in Suryalila, Spain next year. “Bridget and I are very happy to be returning to host our third retreat. It’s a very special week of yoga, good food, making and relaxing.”
Mise Tusa is now open Thursday to Saturday, 11am to 6pm, with limited appointments available outside of opening hours.
