Making its debut this weekend from January 9th to 11th, Torann Punk Festival is bringing a fresh surge of energy to Galway’s favourite music venues.

Experience the quartet at the Midwinter Festival
Running from the 23rd to 25th of January, Music for Galway’s Midwinter festival brings the magic of string quartet to life at the Town Hall Theatre.
This year's edition, The Quartet Extends, celebrates the versatility of the string quartet, by expanding the traditional ensemble with a clarinettist, soprano, pianist, uilleann piper and even a second string quartet to create an unforgettable music experience.

Discover Canadian folk at the Roisín Dubh
Canadian folk favourites Mallory Chipman and Maddisun bring their distinct soulful sound to Roisín Dubh on January 14th. The duo arrive in Ireland fresh from the release of their new albums Songs to a Wild God and The Pages, ready to share their “Canadiana” sound with Irish ears. Embrace Irish with Tonnta
Galway’s vibrant Irish language festival, Tonnta, returns to Galway from January 29th to February 1st, celebrating Ireland’s only bilingual city and inviting everyone to use our native language regardless of fluency.
Brought to life by Gailimh le Gaeilge and in collaboration with Galway City Council, Tonnta invites everyone to celebrate the Irish language through their fun programme of events.
Festival highlights include a free céilí mór in Eyre Square, a performance from talented singer-songwriter Padraig Jack, screen printing at Just Art It and a children's storytelling session in Charlie Byrnes.
