Dentistry and making connections
Dentistry is not just about teeth. It’s more about connecting with patients and making everything easier for them.
Getting patients involved
I actively involve patients in their treatment journey. We can show them the entire process of creating their dental crown – from digital design to watching the CAD-CAM milling units fabricate their custom restoration in real time.

How being trilingual helps with treatment
I speak three languages – English, Arabic and Russian – which can be great for putting patients at ease. Just a small bit of communication or chitchat can be so helpful; you can see them smile even before treatment begins
Professional on the pitch
My father is a football coach, so I have been playing from a young age. I got my first professional contract when I was 18.

Teamwork
Life for me is a balance between my dentistry and football. Both require a lot of teamwork – at the clinic, you have your team, the nurses, your colleagues. In football, it’s the same, you have a team and you’re all working together.
Making sacrifices
I never put limits on myself; dentistry and football can consume all of your time, but I’m happy to make the necessary sacrifices. That might mean I’ll miss a night out with friends to go training, but when you love something you will definitely do it, you’ll find the time.
Keeping fit
Football gives me energy and keeps me fit. Working as a dentist, you can develop back pain, but staying active through sport helps counteract that
Rest and recovery
Sometimes your mind gets more tired in the clinic and your body on the soccer pitch, and sometimes it’s the other way around. I have to make sure I’m making time to recover and rest, as well as eating well and drinking plenty of water
