9 Gorgeous Galway Pride Events on This Week
From wholesome craft nights and herbalist walks to dazzling parties and genre-bending shows, we've rounded up nine gorgeous events for celebrating in style.

The Craft Night
If you want to mark the week with a little keepsake, Café Lates are back at Plámas on Thursday 6th at 6.30pm.
This week illustrator Ciara Coogan will lead a wholesome Craft Night for pride week, and anyone from the “craft curious” to the “DIY divas” are welcome!
The Nature Walk
For those in need of mellow mid-week activity, Galway Community Pride volunteer Cáit is leading a serene herbalist nature walk.
On Wednesday 5th at 12pm, starting in Fisheries Field, Cáit will begin the forage and stroll, sharing how to identify plants for use in herbal remedies as you go.
The Art Exhibition
On August 7th at 6pm, Galway-based artist Sara K Dunn will open her immersive art exhibition at Engage Art Studios in Lower Salthill.
Mycelium Sanctuary is an interactive installation and artworks inspired by “the expansive queerness of nature, with a specific devotion to queer mycology.” It was created by Dunn to provide a place of solace, rest and imagining.
The exhibition will run until August 16th from 12-6pm daily.
The Shows
Comedy and music collide with Sailhymn and Sharpie: A Galway Pride Show, which takes place Wednesday 5th at 8pm in the Róisín Dubh. Tickets are free online, or a fiver on the door.
On Thursday 6th, community-based festival Pobail III will also grace the Róisín Dubh stage, with the goal of raising funds for Galway based queer charity Teach Solais. Buy tickets here.
The Workshop
Get in touch with your inner creative for the Queer Connections Writing Workshop, taking place on Wednesday 5th from 2-4pm at Macnas.
In this two hour workshop, you'll write listings and letters in the tradition of PO Box 45; the once address for the Galway Lesbian Line. Tickets are free but registration is necessary.
The Parade
It wouldn't be pride week without the Galway Pride Parade; Ireland's longest running pride march and now in it's 37th year.
The event will begin on Saturday 8th in Eyre Square at 1:15pm, with face painting, music and general festivities. At 2pm the parade will head toward Galway's Westend for speeches and the Pride Street Party.
The Parties
Rounding out a fabulous week of festivities on Saturday 8th will be club nights galore.
Over at Electric, FLINTA club night Cultúr Riot will have DJs bringing good tunes and a great buzz, while Club GASS: Pride Party will kick off in the Róisín Dubh at 2pm for drag games and will continue til late with a UV party at 10pm.
