Fresh from its Grand Prix win at the esteemed Berlin Film Festival (Berlinale), take your seat for the Irish premiere. Brendan Canty’s feature film debut, tells story of two estranged brothers with troubled pasts suddenly back under the same roof.

Minding

Pass the popcorn, the Screen Ireland shorts blocks are always worth showing up to. We’re most excited to see a piece written by Shannon Welby and directed by Emily Foran. Set in the countryside, a mother drops her college student daughter, now finished up her weekend job at home, to the bus heading to the city - and to life without her.

Gerry Adams - A Ballymurphy Man

We can’t be the only ones curious about one of the most illusive men in our history? This documentary, written and directed by Trisha Ziff, marks the first time Adams sits down to tell his story and his crucial role in Irish politics.

Split Milk 

A directorial debut from Brian Durnin, Spilt Milk follows 11-year-old Bobby O’Brien, a Kojak superfan, as he sets out to find his missing brother, in a 1980s working-class, inner-city Dublin.

Directors Masterclass with Ali Abbasi

Nominated for two Oscars, two Golden Globes and three BAFTAs, this Iranian filmmaker is sure to teach any budding director a thing or two.
