This How To Gael x IrelandsEye Knit Is The Irish Jumper Everyone Will Want This Winter
If you’re in need of a cosy geansaí to see you through the cold winter months, look no further than the new How to Gael x IrelandsEye Aran knit.

The country’s number one bilingual podcast, How to Gael has been going from strength to strength since it first launched back in 2023. Hosted by broadcasters Doireann Ní Ghlacáin, Louise Cantillon, and Síomha Ní Ruairc, the show has quickly amassed a cult following both at home and abroad… and now, they’re bringing out their first piece of merch!

A new generation of Irish speakers, Doireann, Louise, and Síomha are living, working, socialising and reviving an Ghaeilge in a way that makes it interesting and relevant to their audience. Naturally, that goes hand in hand with sporting Irish design.

Teaming up with IrelandsEye Knitwear—a sustainable, family-owned knitwear business based in Dublin with a focus on creating contemporary Irish-made, hand-finished pieces—it’s a collaboration that, put simply, just works.

Made from 100% merino wool, the How To Gael cropped Clover cardigan comes in the original light cream colour of an Aran jumper, known as báinín or white. A beautiful, contemporary take on the traditional Aran jumper, it features pink cuffs with the podcast’s initials ‘HTG’ and a Triskele symbol embroidered on the sleeve – because, just like the Celts, they believe that all good things come in threes. One of the oldest Celtic symbols, the Triskele is believed to symbolise everything from family and the three worlds (present, spirit and celestial) to strength, progress and friendship.

Sharing a sneak peek at what the finished products will look like over on Instagram this morning, the trio said they were “thrilled to be partnering with the curators of Irish knitwear to bring this to life”.

With six buttons and generous lantern sleeves and an Aran pattern of gentle moss, honeycomb and cable stitches, this limited-edition How To Gael Clover báinín is the perfect choice for gifting Gaelach this Christmas or indeed to add a timeless piece to your own wardrobe, for €129.95 per cardigan. Pre-orders for the limited-edition jumper will open on the How to Gael website at 10am this Friday morning.
