Meet the Woman Behind Galway's Newest Natural Skincare Brand

Surrounded by sea and the wild beauty of the west coast, Fiona Coyne has always been guided by the natural rhythms of the landscape.

Working as a makeup artist and in the beauty and wellness industry for over two decades, she was drawn to creating Flóraith, a new holistic skincare line, inspired by the benefits of nurturing yourself from the inside out. “Makeup is the cherry on top — but it shouldn’t be all the layers of the cake,” she enthuses. “The real beauty lies underneath; it’s about how we feel in our skin, our truth, our beauty.”

From C beauty to Floraith Skincare

Each piece in the collection carries the name of an Irish goddess or mythical woman – Niamh, Muireann, Clíodhna, Órlaith – women of strength, beauty and light.

Fiona, who already runs C Beauty, offering lush facials and holistic energy treatments from her base in the Ceardlann craft village in Spiddal, took things a step further and formulated her very own line of handcrafted products, Flóraith Skincare.

Each piece in the collection carries the name of an Irish goddess or mythical woman – Niamh, Muireann, Clíodhna, Órlaith – women of strength, beauty and light. “Their stories connect us to the divine feminine within us all,” says Fiona. She hopes the products, which include organic rose water facial mist, hyaluronic balm and some seriously cute lip balms, will become essential parts of sacred self-care routines.

A holistic approach to beauty and self care

“For me, self-care isn’t about adding more to our to-do list; it shouldn’t be another task. It’s the moments we choose to pause, breathe and honour our energy,” she explains. She describes skincare as one of “the simplest, most powerful ways” to practice connecting with yourself. “It has been my saving grace as a busy mum of three,” she says. “Especially over the last ten years, when I can lock myself away for 10-20 minutes, connect to my breath, relax my nervous system and use the uplifting scents and benefits of plant extracts to work in harmony with my skin and soul.”
